"Gaming Club is a go until the end of the year! Have friendly competitions in everything from Super Smash Bros. to Monopoly! Gaming Club is Mondays and Wednesdays 4pm to 5pm!"

State Art Symposium coming up. Good luck to those students and sponsors.

SPORTS NEWS: TRACK NEWS:
JR. HIGH: Saturday, April 18th 10 AM - Departure 8:00 am

The first annual GS Golf tourney was a big success! We had a great turn out from schools and athletes. Ally Ann placed 3rd in the girls division and Blake placed 8th in the boys division. A huge shout out to the coaches for all their hard work in making this happen! We would also like to thank the city, viking volunteers and any of our volunteers who helped make this successful!

HIGH SCHOOL TRACK:
Friday, April 24th @ Pine Bluffs 9:00 am start time - departure time 5:45 am.

If you are interested in taking EWC classes next fall, you can register for them on April 20th in Mrs. Raser's room. Please see her if you have any questions.


UPCOMING:
Track and golf pictures are on Tuesday, April 21. We will start with golf after school on the football field and then move to track pictures.

The photographer will have a card for each kid so they can go online and order them. Thank you for your cooperation in making this work for our athletes! This is the first time that we will have pictures for golf and track athletes and teams.


GEARUP-LUNCHEON:
Gear Up lunch for 7th & 8th grade on April 20, 2026 Lunch is Subway
Lunch for 9th - 12th grade will be April 23, 2026 Subway.

May 11, 2026 I would like to take the Gear Up Seniors to Lira's for their last lunch.
May 14, 2026 We will have Walking Tacos for 7th - 11th Grade.


VIKING JUNIOR DEPUTY PROGRAM:
Starting April 7th (after Spring Break) through the end of the school year, we are launching an exciting new recognition program for our K–6 students!

What is a Viking Pride Junior Deputy?

...may be selected as an Official Viking Pride Junior Deputy!

PROM NEWS:
A few notes for Guernsey-Sunrise Junior and Seniors: Guernsey-Sunrise Junior Class Parents Presents:

There is still time to sign up for the prom dinner. Sign up sheets are in the high school office. They need a final count by Friday, April 17th.
PROM DINNER
Saturday, April 25th
Ben's Bar/307 Guernsey Grill
5pm to 7pm
$20 per person
RSVP - The Junior Class Parents committee will be in the commons on Thursday, April 9th to collect the money for the dinner and for you to RSVP

There is a sign up sheet in the High School Office if you would like to be considered for the Prom Diner Scholarship

AFTER PROM Starts at 11:30 pm - 2:30 am
Please join the Guernsey-Sunrise Junior Class Parents in after prom - Join us for a bonfire, snacks, games in the gym and prizes! Bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather!
No outside food or drinks will be allowed (snacks will be provided)
Students must check in by 12 am
Students to be released at 2:30 am
Parents will be notified for early departures.


3 ON 3 BASKETBALL LEAGUE: Good morning all of you basketball fans and athlete! Yes, I am talking to you teachers too! 3 on 3 basketball is quickly approaching!! All you need to do is put together a team of 4 to 6 people, get a registration form from Lindi in the high school office, fill out the registration form, and give it back to Lindi in the high school office. You can pay to play to Mrs Kujak before your first game. Any questions, just email Mrs. Kujak!


Fundraiser for the Lady Vikings Basketball Program
WHEN: Mondays for youth and junior high
Thursdays for high school and adult
Mondays: April 27, May 4, May 11, Championship games May 18
Thursdays: April 30, May 7, May 14, Championship games May 21

WHERE: Guernsey Sunrise Gym
COST: $50.00 per team
TIME: Games will be scheduled at 6:00 pm, 6:45 pm and 7:30 pm

There are registration forms in the high school office to sign up your team.

Upcoming Finance Classes at the Platte County Community Family Resource Center this is geared towards students. Dates are 1:30 - 2:30 pm on May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd. If you have any questions or to RSVP call Julie at 307-881-2423.

Cancer Research Learning Programs - for High School students from across the Mountain View West. Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) offers summer programs for students who are curious about science, cancer, and future health careers. Whether you're just starting to explore or ready for a deeper experience, there's a program designed to meet you where you are. These are available in virtual format. There are fliers around the high school that have QR codes if you would like more information.
